Well the jet lag was useful this morning as I was up early and this gave me an opportunity to hire a car and drive to the Grand Canyon. This what the online encyclopedia says about the canyon.

The canyon, created by the Colorado River cutting a channel over millions of years, is about 277 miles (446 km) long, ranges in width from 0.25 to 18 miles (0.5 to 29 kilometers) and attains a depth of more than a mile (1,600 m). Nearly two billion years of the Earth's history has been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut through layer after layer of sediment as the Colorado Plateaus have uplifted. It is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

It truly is an amazing site, this is not my first visit but each time I have been before I have flown there never driven but every time it is well worth it. I had my guitar and video camera ready just need to find the ideal place. Walking around for a while we found this ledge hanging out over the canyon and started filming. As you can see the results are fantastic.
